Films

I have this thing for watching movies.

Maybe I shouldn't love it so much.
Maybe I should stop watchin' them.

But I don't think I could ever bring myself to let them go.

Granted, I'm not talking about the filthy display on
 a silver screen
that sometimes appears to be called a movie.

That's just down right sad
when people fill their beautiful, delicate minds
with garbage that is disintegrating their knowledge base.
Really?
Please prevent that.
Thanks.

No,
I'm talkin' about the good stuff.

The ones that change thought, action, and paths.

Ones that make your cry because they make you
feel somethin'.

I get excited when I curl up in a blanket on the couch,
or am totally guilty of sneaking in 2 pints of icecream,
sunny D's, saltines, and chocolates in my oversized purse
to the movie theater.

My heart does this whole....
"YEEEESSSSSSS. Thank you for treating me
to an exquisite time!"
thing.

{Sorta creepy, but true}

I get giddy over angles,
spot on shots of the eyes,
emotional expression,
and how the lines on the face change
when a character realizes something
catostrophic.

Mmmm...
One of my all time FAVORITE things
is to get a blankie, the above ^ mentioned purse,
and go to the movies all by myself.

Then I can have any opinion I want.
I can cry like a baby next to a complete stranger
who doesn't even want to think
about offering a tissue to me
because they know it will come back completely
obliterated by...well....things related to the color green. :)

Call me crazy.
No wonder I'm one of the oddest crayons in the box.

I understand obsessing over movies and
doing nothing else with your life at all is
not such a good thing.

I completely agree.

But I'm talking about when it's good
for the time being = this post.

I can honestly say that my life
has been changed by movies.
{the good ones ;)}

Of course we all know Ally isn't Ally
without her HP.

I mean, come on.

Yes, I hear all you certain individuals
screaming at your screen right now because
you thought the Harry Potter films
were completely awful in comparison.

But let me ask you this.
You can't possibly be telling the truth if the
scene in the last film where their putting put up
the shield around Hogwarts
and the sweet awesome suits of armor
coming down from the ceiling
didn't totally blow your universe
and make your heart DO something.

My mother hasn't even seen all the films
or read any of the books,
and she had tears in her eyes
during that sequence.

That's what I'm talking about.
You may not know what's going on in a film,
but your mind and heart know when something
spectacular is going on in front of you.

Princess Bride.
Mulan.
Lion King.
Pursuit of Happiness
You've Got Mail
The Brave Little Toaster
Dead Poet's Society
The Help
A Walk to Remember
Beautiful Mind
Charly
How To Train Your Dragon
StarDust
Lord of the Rings
Harry Potter
Hook
Ninja Turtles
Wizard of Oz
Gone with the Wind
West Side Story
An Affair to Remember
Ever After
Sabrina
The Karate Kid
Star Wars
The Sandlot
Fiddler On the Roof
Home Alone
Finding Neverland
Singing In The Rain
Indiana Jones
Matilda
Toy Story
Shadowlands
Howl's Moving Castle
Goofy Movie
Muppets in Space

Anyway,
today, all I can think about is
the little thumping in my chest begging me
to take it to a film this weekend.

And I think I'll obey. ;)

It's between-

Women In Black
with Daniel Radcliffe
{I'm not a big thriller movie type of girl,
but I loved the play-even though I wet my pants}

or

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
with Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, and Thomas Horn

I'll let ya know how it goes. :)

Happy weekend!
And let me know if you're going to watch a film this weekend
or have any recommendations.

Mr. J and People

Mmmm....
sweet saturday.
{This was written on Saturday}

It's always a good day when
I pull out the glasses,
braid my hair,
put on the loose button-up,
and have red-painted fingernails.

Ahhh...

Oh.
And I studied.

But it was all good because
I did so in the institute building
with absolutely no souls around,
and also with Janese at her house,
which was superb beyond reason.

I love that woman.
And I'm going to miss her so.

Anywho.

I've discovered
that I have failed to update
the world on Mr. J and myself. ;)

Before we begin, however,
you must play this song
while you read.

It just soothes my soul.
Mmmm hmmm. ;)

Right.
So it would take an awfully
long time to recapture all
the moments we've had together
in the past while,
but I'll just highlight a few.

A few weeks after he came home,
his brother, Ryan, and sister-in-law, KacyAnn
{and himself, of course},
came to Cedar City
to spend the weekend. ;)

We got in the car and went to Leeds,
which is where KacyAnn's grandparents live.

There house is AWESOME.
They have stuff from all over the world
in there.
Not to mention the coolest fish EVER
in their pond.
Eeee-oh!

I don't think I could have been more pleased.
We were treated like king and queens!

We went on countless adventures
from touring the town, to hiking around,
to watching Tangled
and How To Train A Dragon
{which Chad was seeing for the first time},
to gettin' in the hot tub,
and reading scriptures with my man ;),
to playing parcheesi and silently
dominating.

Ah. It was the best.

{Did I mention I love it when he does that?^}

After our little hiking adventure,
we went to Nielsen's Frozen Custard
in St. George.
Yummmmm.....

{Ya...I like that boy}

Kids?
Let's be real.
I forgot how easy and utterly fulfilling
it was to just hang out with him.

It's better than Christmas,
my friends.
All the sudden,
the world makes sense
and you know they'll love you
no matter what you do.

Ah!
To be loved for being just
YOU!

:)

{~}

On to our next update. ;)
{That I actually have pictures for...}

A few weeks ago,
we had Pie Night.
Here's Ryan, KacyAnn, Chad and I
at that event. :)

I would show more photos
of the family and friend ordeal,
complete with pies well over the
double digits,
but...
I may or may not have accidentally
deleted the photos?

Oops...
Not intentional.

But yes.
Pie Night is only the greatest night
to be invented ever in the history of life.

Thank you, Leafy,
for thinking about the genius idea
that we now celebrate every year.

Millions of pies
{in the eyes of a little one},
Mexican dip, chips and crackers,
CHEESEBALL, veggies,
topped off with your outstanding family
and fantastic friends,
and you got a night to remember.

Talk about feeling loved
and understanding why we're given
each other. ;)

I just feel so....happy-
and content about life
and stuff. :)

And Mr. J
is just the most phenomenal person.
He makes me so happy every day...

I think he's a keeper,
folks.

Alright.
I shall conclude this post for now.
But be ready for more to come! ;)

May you all have a splendid finals week
{hehehe...},
and if you aren't currently a student,
may you enjoy this Christmas season
of cheeryness. :)

Love always,
Little Besty
